Protecting the Great Southern Forest and Ending Native Forest Logging - An evening with Bob Brown, Sue Higginson and Dave Gallan

Join Bob Brown, Sue Higginson and Dave Gallan for a special evening celebrating the vision for the Great Southern Forest National Park. Hear about one of Australia's most ambitious forest conservation campaigns, enjoy an exclusive screening of Tallaganda, and discover how we can finally end native forest logging in NSW together.

Across NSW, communities have spent decades fighting to protect our precious native forests. The proposed Great Southern Forest National Park is the next ambition, creating a connected protected landscape of almost 1.2 million hectares stretching from the Illawarra to the Victorian border.

Join the Greens NSW to hear more and be involved in this inspiring vision.

The evening includes:

  • A presentation from Dave Gallan introducing the Great Southern Forest proposal.

  • A screening of Tallaganda, a stunning short film exploring one of the most ecologically important forests in the proposed park.

  • A conversation with Bob Brown and Sue Higginson on the people-powered campaigns that have protected forests across Australia.

Tallaganda is home to greater gliders, quolls, platypus, powerful owls with up to 31 nationally threatened species. The forest survived much of the Black Summer fires, making it one of the state's most important wildlife refuges.

This will be an evening about forests, but it will also be about us: the courage found in community, the joy that sustains movements and the love for the natural world that has driven generations of people to defend it.

Whether you've been campaigning for years or are just beginning, this is an opportunity to meet others who care about our forests.

Reserve your free place today. If you can, please make a contribution to help cover the event and support the campaign to protect NSW's native forests.
