Join Max Chandler-Mather in conversation with Councillors Sylvie Ellsmore and Matthew Thompson

Most of us have looked on with excitement as bold leftwing campaigns, centered on the material concerns of everyday people, have gathered momentum around the world. From Zohran Mamdani in New York to Hannah Spencer in Manchester, we’re seeing people-powered movements getting organised and winning elections from the grassroots up.

But with the rise of the far-right nationally while our vote only holds steady, we need to ask the question: what are we doing right, what are we doing wrong, and where do we go from here?

Join Max Chandler-Mather, the newly announced Executive Director of the Green Institute, and City of Sydney Councillors, Sylvie Ellsmore and Matthew Thompson at Glebe Town Hall on Saturday the 2nd of May  for a drink as they discuss how we're securing real wins locally, growing connection with community, and what needs to change for us to build the people-powered movement capable of standing up to the corporate interests and billionaires that control Labor, the Liberals and One Nation.

Doors open at 6pm with canapes provided and a bar open for you to purchase drinks.

Tickets for the talk can be purchased for $15.

Glebe Town Hall is wheelchair accessible with entrances on both Forest and Lodge Streets and an elevator inside the building Please reach out to sydneycitygreens@gmail.com with any questions or concerns related to accessibility.

Talk: 6pm through to 8pm
