Join the Blacktown Greens team for our March day of Action

Across our community, families are being pushed to breaking point.

More than 65,000 households are stuck on the public housing waitlist, while the NSW Government continues to sell off public land that should be used for new homes. At the same time, children as young as 10 are being criminalised, harassed by police, dragged through the courts, and locked in cells—denied the care, support and education they need.

Join the Blacktown Greens for a combined day of action as we campaign for safe housing, strong communities, and justice for young people. We’ll start with a discussion about the housing crisis, the government’s broken promises on public land, and the urgent need to build more public housing, regulate rents, and end tax concessions for landlords. We’ll also talk through the Stop Jailing Kids campaign and the pathway to raising the age of criminal responsibility to 14, in line with international standards.

After our discussion, we’ll head out together for community outreach handing out flyers, chatting with locals, and letterboxing nearby streets. We will Letterbox for the Stop Jailing Kids campaign, and Leaflet for cost of living relief & defending public housing. Whether you prefer handing out materials, having short conversations, or simply walking a route with a buddy, your contribution will make a real difference. All materials will be provided, and we’ll run a quick briefing at the start so everyone feels confident and supported.

Please wear a Greens shirt or badge if you have one, and bring anything you may need for sun or wet weather such as water, sunscreen, an umbrella or raincoat. The event is fully wheelchair accessible. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to contact the organiser beforehand.
