Fighting Forever Chemicals: PFAS Community Forum

There is growing evidence that PFAS, sometimes known as "forever chemicals", are harmful to human health and toxic to ecosystems. Worryingly, these chemicals have made their way into our homes, water supply, and environment through decades of pollution.

Once they get into the environment or into our bodies, PFAS are nearly impossible to get rid of. So, how can we stop this growing problem from getting even worse, and fix the damage that is already done?

Join Cate Faehrmann MLC, NSW Greens Spokesperson for Water, and our expert panel to hear about PFAS contamination on the Central Coast and across NSW and discuss evidence-based solutions to this emerging issue. Cate will be joined by Macquarie University PFAS researcher and ecologist Matthew Tendam, and local journalist Jackie Pearson from the Community Environment Network.

This event will run from 3-5pm on Saturday the 19th of July 2025 at Narara Community Centre. We welcome any interested members of the community to hear from our panel and have their PFAS questions answered. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free but you can choose to make a donation as part of your registration to help us cover venue and catering costs.
