Shoalhaven’s Transition to NET Zero 2050 is on the way - and its nuclear free.
Way back in 2006, we were a key part of the push to declare the Shoalhaven a Nuclear Free Zone.
Under Mayor Gartner, the council will not abandon Australia’s Paris Agreement commitments and will continue to drive towards the Net Zero by 2050 target introduced in 2019.
Kaye Gartner will launch the Renewable Energy Policy for 2024. Shoalhaven City Council is already an award winning leader in renewable energy policy and strategy, and renewable projects
In this panel discussion event, you get to pose the questions that our panel will answer:
-
Helen Caldicott - Australian physician, author, and anti-nuclear advocate.
-
Kaye Gartner - Mayoral candidate for the Shoalhaven Local Government elections. Kaye championed Net Zero in 2017, resulting in the adoption of 2018 Renewable energy policy and strategy on Shoalhaven City Council.
-
Bob Hayward - Engineer and Project Manager. Bob led the Repower Shoalhaven team that facilitated the 3MW solar farm in South Nowra.
-
David Shoebridge - Australian Senator and a member of the Australian Greens. Maintaining a nuclear free Australia is a central policy of his political advocacy and leadership.
