International law: Is Australia complicit in supporting genocide in Gaza?

Greens NSW Political Education Trust and Greens for Palestine present this seminar for Greens members and close supporters.

The Australian Greens are the only party in any legislative chamber in Australia who are defending the rights of the Palestinian people in Gaza against the savagery that Israel has rained down upon them over 100 days of almost ceaseless bombardment.

Peace and nonviolence is a key pillar of who we are as Greens. So it is important that Greens members and supporters inform themselves about what is happening in Gaza. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has made interim findings that give credence to South Africa's claim that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians.

This seminar will provide participants with the opportunity to have their questions about the war on Gaza, the ICJ ruling and International Humanitarian Law, answered by people with expertise in the area.

Our speakers are:

Rawan Arraf, Executive Director & Principal Lawyer at Australian Centre for International Justice. Rawan will be in conversation with Cathy Peters, convenor of Greens for Palestine. Rawan will discuss the implications of the interim ruling of the International Court of Justice regarding Israel's genocide in Gaza.

Amal Naser: Amal Naser is a Palestinian organiser, currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UNSW. Amal works in David Shoebridge's office. She will speak on the importance of activist solidarity to the survival of Palestine in the face of genocidal attack.

Vivienne Porzsolt, member of Greens for Palestine, activist  and social justice advocate, spokesperson for Jews against the Occupation '48, will refute accusations of anti-semitism against those who oppose Israel's actions.

If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will need to contact the event organiser directly to let them know there will be someone under 18 attending.
