Senator Barbara Pocock has undertaken a huge piece of work this year, chairing a Senate inquiry into our broken housing system.
We’ve heard from experts, industry representatives, housing and homelessness service providers, and people on the frontline of the housing crisis. We’ve grilled the banks on their super profits, and uncovered the scale of the crisis we’re in.
Unless something changes, we risk a future in which the only path to secure housing is inherited wealth. This is unacceptable.
On the 30th of September we’ll publish the findings of the inquiry, and as anyone trying to find a rental, buy a home, or just keep up with the cost of housing can tell you: it’s clear we need urgent action.
Our report will make a number of recommendations, and we’re calling on the Government to implement them as a matter of priority.
Join Senator Barbara Pocock and special guests to launch the report, and the next stage of the Greens’ campaign for safe and secure housing for all.
Featuring Barbara, subject matter experts, and people with lived experience of the crisis, as well as local music and opportunities to get involved in the campaign, this event is a moment of reflection, celebration, and call to action. We hope to see you there!
