Last Council elections the Maitland Greens only ran two full tickets - one in our best performing Ward and the other in our worst.

Despite this we achieved an increase in our vote and saw more people than ever engaging with Environmental and Planning issues that put the People and the Planet before the profits of Big Business and Developers.

Since then at every single election where the Maitland Greens have stood a candidate we have seen our membership, our volunteers and our vote grow.

Now is the time for change.

This September the Maitland Greens plan to run a Lead Council Candidate in every single Ward and with a focused and dedicated team of keen volunteers - we know that we can elect our first Green to Maitland City Council since 2004!

That is why we are energizing our community with a series of dedicated and focused initiatives that allow us to hear the issues of Maitland residents in order to better represent their interests on Council.

But we can't do it without your help...

Over the next three months we plan to coordinate a series of Letterbox Drops, Wobble Boards, Pop-Up Stalls, Door Knocks, Coffee Catch-Ups, Phone Banks & Community Forums that will reach every single person in our community.

We need you now more than ever to make this dream a reality, so come along to our first volunteer round-up and see what it's all about. Get to know and meet your candidates and sign up to give a small piece of your time that could see Maitland become a lighter shade of Green.

Our first Round-Up will be led by Ward 1 Candidate Campbell Knox and assisted by our veteran campaign coordinators and organizers Jan Davis & Erin O'Brien.

Whether you put a dozen fliers in your neighbors letterboxes or knock on a thousand doors, many small ripples can change a rivers course, and the course of Maitland City Council needs correcting.
