Our koalas will be extinct before 2050 without urgent intervention - that was the key finding of a recent Greens-chaired Koala Inquiry.

Despite this, the NSW Liberal-National Government has ticked off logging operations in the heart of our Great Koala National Park on the Mid North Coast while rampant development continues across the state. Critical koala habitat is being bulldozed to the ground - including Sydney’s very own koala paradise in Campbelltown, home to the healthiest and happiest koala colony in NSW. And thanks to the anti-environment National Party, new laws supposed to protect koala habitat actually make it easier than ever to clear it.

We’re fighting back for koalas - but we can’t do it alone. We don’t have the deep pockets of the major parties and their big donors with vested interests. But we have something much more powerful: we have you.

Summary

The first $1,500 of membership fees and/or donations to a political party from individuals in a financial year are tax deductible.

Political donations legislation in NSW is the strongest in the country because of campaigning by The Greens in Parliament and in the community.

The Greens NSW take the integrity of political donations so seriously that we have our own internal policy which requires us to not accept donations above $7,600 from an eligible donor in any financial year. This figure is indexed annually in line with the Consumer Price Index.

Donations which total $1000 or more in a financial year will be listed on the Greens NSW website, and donors may also be required to disclose these donations to the Electoral Commission.
